Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
CornerMan (“the app”) is a boxing training app for iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.
Data we collect
CornerMan has no user account and no backend for your training data. It sends anonymous usage events to our own server — specifically, which “Pro” features are tapped, along with a random per-install identifier — so we can gauge interest before building them. These events are not linked to your identity and are not used to track you across apps or websites.
If you tap “Notify me at launch,” we register your interest so we can tell you when Pro ships: with your permission we store a push notification token, and — only if you type it — your email address, on our server. Both are used solely to notify you about CornerMan Pro and nothing else. When you register, a one-line summary of that request (the feature name, a short random install identifier, and your email if you provided one) is also delivered to our team through a third-party messaging service (Slack) so we can see interest in real time. This registration record is the only place your email and the install identifier appear together. If you do not tap “Notify me,” none of this is collected.
All data generated during use — workout sessions, combos, round configurations, heart rate readings, and calorie estimates — is stored entirely on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
HealthKit
With your permission, CornerMan reads from and writes to Apple HealthKit:
- Reads: date of birth, biological sex, body mass — used locally to estimate heart rate zones and calories burned.
- Writes: boxing workout sessions, heart rate samples, and active energy burned — saved to your Health app after each completed session.
HealthKit data is never shared with third parties and never leaves your device except through Apple’s own Health infrastructure.
Bluetooth
CornerMan uses Bluetooth to connect to external heart rate monitors (chest straps, armbands). No data from these devices is transmitted externally. BPM readings are used in real time and stored only in the local workout session record.
Purchases
The current version of CornerMan is free and offers no in-app purchases. A one-time “Pro” upgrade is planned for a future release; if and when it ships, all payment processing will be handled entirely by Apple’s in-app purchase system (StoreKit), and CornerMan will never see or store your payment information.
Children
CornerMan is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the “last updated” date above.
